I've had one of those days, a productive one that is...lol!  I love days like today, from the minute I get up everything just flows smoothly =)

Mondays start with a cooked breakfast...YUMMY.  Followed by a bit of computer time - checking emails, reading facebook, following blogs...HOORAY for Google Reader.  I did a wee bit of digging in the garden as it was a beautiful, sunny day.  I went for two walks, folded the washing, topped up the chlorine in the pool, mowed the lawn, finished watching the third Lord of the Rings movie and got together bits and pieces to make a cot quilt for Lil Miss...

Isn't this cute :)  I've only had the cot panel for 15yrs (yes I'm a hoarder) but very happy to finally put it to good use.  I figure I will sew this at night on the days I work, as I am a bit brain dead and too tired to play on my computer.

Then I finally finished off making the cards I've had sitting on my craft desk for the past month.  This first card is for the March Create a Card Challenge, a bit late but hey.  The photo doesn't show it but the brown card is metallic and the patterned card has lots of glitter...

and this second card is for the April Create A Card Challenge, I really wanted to make this card three dimensional so everything is mounted on double-sided sticky foam.

...and now it's time for me to go to bed!  Do you have productive days?  I'd love to hear what you do!

Watching, Reading and Making

TV I V mini series. Anyone who has seen the original should watch this. A little more polished and the story line is similar but not a duplicate of the original, leaves you wanting more and trying to guess what's going to happen next.

BOOK I The Hunger Games. I read all three in 2 weeks... once I was able to get hold of them :). I see they are going to make a movie from the books, that will be interesting.

MAGAZINE I Scrapbooking Memories. I sooo can't wait each month for this Mag. Love the articles, Love the Galleries so much inspiration and my before bed read each night.

MAKING I I have finally made a light-box ^.^  ok so as you can see from the photo it is just a box at the moment as I still have to get the lights...hahahahaha!  This was so quick and easy and not very expensive to make (so far...) found this great source here - http://www.studiolighting.net/homemade-light-box-for-product-photography/

I also have a couple of cards that need putting together and tutorials that go with them to write for later posts!

Hope your having a great day!

Easter Baskets!!!

How cute is this! ^.^  Another simple but fun project you can do in an afternoon.
Supplies List:
Gift Basket Club Easter print-ables at D.A.I.S.I.E. Company (no you don't need to be a member).
Epson heavy weight matte paper (or paper of your choice)
Craft Knife
Bone scorer
Flowers and ribbon of your choice

The Easter Basket included in the club kit is only a small one, which is not what I needed so I enlarged the template in Photoshop.  As I require 4 baskets this year, one for each of the children I also changed the colour of the lower portion of the template.  I printed out my templates on my Epson printer, using the Epson heavy weight matte paper.  I find this paper is excellent for paper crafts, super bright and the colours are vibrant.

Now as I don't have a cutting machine, I just used my craft knife and a ruler to cut the straight lines and scissors to cut the curves.  Using a bone scorer, score all lines as indicated on the template.  I have finally purchased a scor-pal and boy does this make a difference :)

Now your ready to glue your pieces together!  I tried using a glue runner but this didn't seem to be a good stick and ended up using double sided sticky tape.  I did find that gluing both edges on the sides gave a better bond instead of just running tape down the middle

Once the basket is assembled and the handle attached it's ready for a bit of decoration.  For the girls baskets I added flowers and a bit of ribbon but left the boys baskets plain.

TA DA!!!  I am so happy with the way the baskets turned out, these are too cute and the kids can take them home with them this year.  Bottom left of the photo you will see a small basket this is the original size that comes in the Club Kit.  This little basket I will give to our granddaughter, the bigger baskets are for the big kids ranging in age from 21 - 26 years... hahahahahaha!
