Ooooops...We got it wrong!

Boy I sure do miss having the kids home when it's time to put up the Christmas Tree... it now falls to me and Hubby to put up the tree which means there is room for odd technical hitch ;)

So the tree went up... no problem there, then the lights put in place... no problem there, then we turned them on...

Eeeewwww!!!  You could hardly tell they were switched on, talk about a dim light - very disappointed with the lights on the tree :(  So we had a conversation that went - 'Oh, they are not very good lights are they'  'We should buy some more... didn't we say that last year'  'I thought we had bought new lights' 'wait a minute' opens another box of Christmas bits and hey presto found another set of lights.  Yes we had bought new lights last year and I had forgotten to mark the box and separate the outside lights from the inside lights...lol!

So once the lights on the tree were replaced and turned on to double check we hadn't got it wrong again...hehehe, this is what our tree looks like :)

*sigh*  I love a pretty tree, I could look at it all night!

Have a great day!

Card Me Thursday - Christmas of Course!

I have been just so super busy I really haven't spent a lot of time in my craft room :(  but at least I managed to make these...

Lots of embossing, scoring and using my most favorite toy my Cameo!  Now to work out when I can mass produce them *wink*

The Santa treat toppers are a .studio cut file I purchased from the Silhouette store.  These are just too cute when made up :)

Getting in the Spirit!

I just had to do this with my nails...

(another Pinterest find)

Mind you the look on the lady-who-does-my-nails face when I ask if she could do this was gold.  How cute are they... so festive and I've had so many comments on them already - hahahaha!

Have a great day!

The Official start of the Season!

Here in this house anyway...

Have I mentioned I LOVE PINTEREST!  It gave me the idea for this around my front door...

I love it sooooo much I think I will do the same for the windows next year :)  Now to put up the lights and go finish off decorating the inside of the house!

Have a great day!

Project Life - where did it go!

OK, OK I'm ready to admit it... my Project Life has gone belly up, yep it's a just not happening and ya know, I'm OK with that.  Instead of pages today I will share a few pics of what I should have put in my Project Life...hehehe.

We celebrated Miss Ivy's second birthday last Saturday with a Blues Clues themed party.  Can you believe this little girl is two 0.0...
I made an iron-transfer of Blue with my Cameo to add to a little top.  She did look cute in her tutu and co-ordinating top.  And boy didn't she love those plaits, ran around for a full 5mins swinging them from side to side and having a wonderful time :)

Miss Ivy's very clever Mummy crocheted a Blue and the Salt and Pepper as cake ornaments, little Miss thought they were just awesome!

And of course what's a birthday without cake and ice cream... it seemed to taste better if you just licked it out of the cup rather than use a spoon...lol!

Have a great day!

It's Time for Christmas!

Finally! I've made it to my craft room to start on Christmas card...YAY! I've been madly pinning cards I like to Pinterest, so I have some sort of idea on what I can make. I even bought a pack of three card making magazine...lol.

So here are the first few offerings...

The Silly Season has started...

well for me anyway!  OK so it really started about a month ago but I am beginning to feel a lot more like Christmas is just around the corner...EEK!!!

KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON - this will definitely be my mantra for this month and the next.  Not that I really need to worry, I couldn't sleep one night last month so I got up and planned out my schedule for October, November and December... hahahaha cos that's what ya'll do when you can't sleep right!

I have to say though I am glad I did this as it really has taken the pressure off, I highly recommend it :)

Here is a little of what I had/have planned for Oct/Nov...

1. Invites for Miss Ivy's second birthday.  Our gorgeous DIL is doing a Blues Clues theme and asked me to help out with the invites she designed that required a lot of cutting... cue the Silhouette!
2. A tutu for Miss Ivy's birthday...

isn't it gorgeous, I can't wait to see it on :).  I followed the directions from this post by Mandy http://babystribling.blogspot.com.au/2011/10/diy-tutu-do-it-yourself-no-sew-tutu.html
3. Christmas cards and calendars for the family are in the works.
4. Organize canvas prints for family members as Christmas presents.
5. This year I am decorating around the front door with swags and present trees either side, way too excited for these...lol.  Photos to come :)
6. Get cracking on some subway art I would love to have on the wall this Christmas too.
7. As I am working the first weekend in December which is when traditionally we put the tree and decorations up, I am going to do this the Thursday/Friday before.

...and well because that isn't enough I have signed up for three eClasses this month!!!  Yes I did...hahahahaha.  Studio Calico are having a class for the Silhouette, I don't think I can ever know enough plus they had a really cool class kit.  Gossamer Blue are running a December Daily Boot Camp, this one I hope will have me and my album ready and set for December 1st. Last but not least I signed up for {MO}tography over at Jessica Sprague, this class looks like a lot of fun as I learn how to take better pics with my iPhone.

Well that sounds like a bit of a quiet month doesn't it...hahahahaha.

Have a great day!

Christmas Joy

Hi Folks,

I haven't been slack in crafting just a smidgen busy with real life stuff.  I have also been gathering ideas of decorating things to do for Christmas.  If you are on Pinterest you can take a peek at my Christmas Idea's board... aaahhhhh Pinterest how additive you are...lol.

So anyway, after looking at last years Christmas photos I noticed a couple of my walls were rather bare.  This year they will be covered...hahahaha.  Starting with this JOY wall hanging...

I still have to figure out how I am going to hang it, I'm thinking just a piece of ribbon at this stage but you never know ;)

Each piece has a nice 3D effect and I managed to make the letters look a little frosty with glitter and glue.  One project down... only a few dozen to go :)

Do you have Christmas projects on the go yet?

Have a great day!

Google Reader - The Good, The Bad and a fix!

Hands up who uses Google Reader? *waving hand*

I love it, it helps me stay focused on the blogs I love to read. Without it, I am all over the place on the internet clicking links left, right and centre...hahaha. With Google Reader I have new posts from the 146 blogs I subscribe to, delivered to me each day. Trust me when I say there is no way I would have enough hours in the day to visit each of those blogs to see who has a new post and who doesn't!

And.... here is the not so good bit, I am not actually visiting anyone's blog *sad face*... and there are an increasing number of bloggers that are Truncating posts (you only get a part of the post). While understand why they do this it is not much good to me in Google Reader. Plus because I am not actually visiting anyone's blog I don't leave many a comment - NOT GOOD!

But you know what there is a fix... yep a really easy one too. If you click on your settings button in Google Reader and go to the GOODIES tab you will find a little button that says 'Next >>'.

When you drag this up to your browser bar what happens is... when you open Google Reader and click this next button you will be taken to the first new blog post in your Google Reader list! Yes to the blog post where you can read the post and leave a comment...YAY! Just keep clicking that next button until you come to the end of the blog feeds, you then get the option to return to Google Reader. How awesome is that!

I am so happy I found out about this little tip, now I have the best of both worlds... all my favorite feeds delivered to me and I now visit each blog with a new post :)   Hope it helps some of you too.

Have a great day!

Project Life - Week 15

Another week done...YAY!!!

Hahaha it's a bit amusing to see photos from Easter when I am busy thinking of Christmas.  Just glad I have another week finished, I thought I had Week 16 done too but must not as I can't find a jpeg version of it - oh well next week...hehehehe!

Digi kit used for this week was Mandy King's - Inspire Me Blog Train contribution... love it!

Have a great day!

December Daily - it's a paper year!

Hi Folks,

Have you started to see December Daily posts pop up here and there... are you as excited as me...lol!  This will be the third year of December Daily for me and I am just too excited to get going.  I decided this year I was going to do a paper version of December Daily and to make life just that little bit easier Ali Edwards has teamed up with Studio Calico.  They have put together an absolutely awesome December Daily kit available for pre-order now!...

2010 was the first year I started hearing about December Daily and figured I would give it a go in a paper format (didn't finish that) and at the same time I did a digital version... loved that!

2011 December Daily was a digital format that I had printed into a bound book... I just can't tell you how much I love that!

But hang on a minute didn't I say I started a paper version back in 2010...yes I did and rediscovered the semi-completed album while looking through a box of Christmas papers to use for my Christmas cards this year.  I didn't quite have the hang of documenting every day back then so I missed a few days and unfortunately the digital version is not the right size for printing...but it won't take me long to finish off the paper version.  All I need to finish the album is 4 pages so I spent a day on the weekend printing foundation pages and photos, ready for me to complete in the next couple of days.

I was so rapt to find the paper version I started that's why 2012 December Daily will be the year of paper...YIPPEE!!!

Have a great day!
